The aftermath of Tropical Storm No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi) has caused severe damage to people and property in Yen Bai Province. In response to the difficulties faced by the province, the Vietnamese Business Association in Canada has funded the construction of infrastructure and provided living and educational support for students at Nghia Tam Primary School in Van Chan District.
Under the program, the Vietnamese Business Association in Canada will contribute 2 billion VND to improve meal quality for students, allocating 200 million VND per school year for five years (from the 2024-2025 to the 2028-2029 school years). The support will be delivered monthly or quarterly in the form of rice and food supplies based on student needs. Additionally, the funds will cover the construction of a kitchen, sanitation facilities, the upgrade of dining rooms, and the purchase of essential equipment for students and teachers.
Speaking about this meaningful initiative, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Bac, Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and a Vietnamese entrepreneur in Canada, expressed his hope that in the future, the business community, both in Vietnam and overseas, will continue to contribute and support those facing hardships in remote, underprivileged, and ethnic minority areas.
At the signing ceremony, witnessed by delegates and students, the Chairman of the Provincial Study Promotion Association, the Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Canada, and the Board of Management of Nghia Tam Primary School signed the funding agreement documents. The Vietnamese Business Association in Canada also directly donated the first batch of electronic equipment and essential goods to Nghia Tam Primary School. Additionally, they presented gifts to five disadvantaged households in the commune and five teachers facing difficulties at Nghia Tam Primary School, with each gift valued at 3 million VND.
